Tips for buying the freshest bread
What things do you do to see how fresh the bread is, that you are buying? Do you squeeze the bread to see if it is fresh? Do you pick from the back?
A friend told me the craziest thing and I thought I would share the coolest tip with you.
Bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week. Every day but Wednesday and Sunday and each day has a different color twist tie. They are:
Monday – Blue
Tuesday – Green
Thursday – Red
Friday – White
Saturday – Yellow
So if you went to the grocery store on Tuesday you would want to look for bread that had a green twist tie or plastic clip. It may be hard to remember the colors at first, but just remember the colors are alphabetical Monday- B, Saturday –Y.
