Self Diagnosis
Do you self diagnose yourself first before going to the doctors? I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t made a doctors appointment because I’ve gone online and self diagnosed myself or my children.
I’ve been battling an infection I acquired from having a pedicure. Yes I’m the dumb one that shaved their legs the day of getting a pedicure. It took me several months to find out that this wasn’t bug bites. Thanks to my online research and finding my diagnosis, I finally made an appointment to get some antibiotics. My first 2 visits I gave the facts that I thought I acquired this from getting a pedicure. I kept quite about what I thought my disease was. I didn’t want to be the crazy one who knew better than the doctors. But after the 2nd visit and having the protocol treatment not work, I finally said something and pulled my piece of paper out and read the name of the disease I researched and what I thought my treatment should be. Now I’m anxious to see if this works.
Is this bad? Would you be looking for another doctor?
